A workstation for the modern timeline.

Casshper wasn't built in a startup office. It was built in the early mornings and late evenings by a product engineer, husband, and father of two.

I've spent over a decade building products for the web. Like many others, my workflow has shifted toward LLM-assisted engineering. In the past, the boilerplate and setup for a project like this would have been nearly impossible to balance with a full-time job and family life. Today, it's kind of possible!

But as the way we write code evolved, the tools we use on Android haven't quite kept up. I found existing solutions often were far behind the times with supported SSH algorithms and some struggled to handle the large text streams common when working with modern LLM agents. Performance would degrade, and the experience could get janky in long sessions.

I built Casshper to solve those frustrations. By using the Ghostty core (Major thanks to the Ghostty team, especially Mitchell Hashimoto, of course) and a native pipeline, I've focused on creating a terminal that is actually responsive and ready for the future.

Innovation is at the heart of this project. I see future LLM agents utilizing Kitty graphics and other advanced terminal sequences to provide richer visual feedback, and I wanted a tool that was ready for that today.

"Developers use their tools forever. You shouldn't have to rent them."

I believe in solid software at a fair, one-time price for professional features. I want to treat other developers the way I'd want to be treated: with a reliable tool that doesn't rely on unnecessary cloud subscriptions.

Thank you for being part of the journey. Whether you're building the next big thing, keeping an eye on your servers, or exploring the possibilities of a local terminal on Android, I hope Casshper can be of use.
